Beetroot halwa is a delicious dessert, it is easy to make and healthy too.

Required ingredients

  • 500 gm small beet root, grated
  • 3-4 green cardamom crushed
  • 3-4 tbsp. ghee (clarified butter)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cream
  • ½ cup unsweetened milk powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • Chopped nuts, as required.

Directions & How to

  • Place grated beet root in zip pouch and microwave for 5 minutes.
  • Heat ghee in a wok or deep frying pan; add cardamoms, sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add the beet root and fry for 5 minutes. Add sugar, mix well and lower the heat.
  • Mix together cream, milk powder and milk without any lumps. Add it to beet root and stir well.
  • Let it cook till ghee starts to appear on the sides.
  • Stir in chopped nuts and serve.
