Chana dal is full of protein and taste. Serve with rice or roti it will be loved by all.
Required ingredients
- 1 cup soaked Chana dal (split gram dal)
- 1.5 cup water
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- ¼ tsp chilli powder
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp garam masala powder
- ½ tsp dry mango powder (amchoor powder)
For tempering
- 1 small onion finely sliced
- ¼ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 whole dry red chilli
- 2 tbsp. oil
Directions & How to
- Boil Chana daal along with water, ginger garlic paste, chilli and turmeric powders and bay leaf till very soft, mushy and thick.
- Mix in garam masala and dry mango powder.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan; add red chilli, cumin seeds and onions. Fry till they are golden.
- Pour the hot dal into the pan and cover immediately.
- Serve with rice or chapati.
