Full of protein, tastes great both as snack and as side dish.
Required ingredients
- 1 cup black Chana (Black Gram) soaked overnight
- 1 small sized onion
- 5 garlic cloves
- ½ inch ginger piece
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- 1 cm cinnamon stick
- 1 black cardamom
- 1 bay leaf
- Few peppercorns
- 1 strand of mace
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp finely chopped onions
Directions & How to
- Pressure cook black chanas with sliced onions, ginger , garlic, salt , chilli powder, whole garam masala with ½ cup of water till very soft.
- Open the lid when the pressure cools itself and dry any excess liquid.
- Grind the chanas to a fine paste.
- Add chopped onions, coriander leaves, garam masala powder and lemon juice.
- Make small patties and shallow fry in a pan till crisp.
- Serve as a side dish or snack.
