Keema matar is minced cooked with green peas, a very popular and tasty north Indian relish.
Required ingredients
- ½ kg minced meat – you can use any ground meat of your choice mutton, beef or lamb.
- 1 cup green peas
- 2 medium onions sliced finely
- 2 medium tomatoes chopped
- 3-4 green chillies chopped finely
- ½ cup yoghurt – well beaten
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala powder
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ cup water
- Salt as per taste
- 3 -4 tbsp oil
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Directions & How to
- Mix ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder in yoghurt and marinate the minced meat in this for 2-3 hours.
- Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan, add cumin seeds, when it crackles add onions and fry it till golden brown. Add marinated mince and stir fry it well for 5 minutes breaking any lumps if formed. Add chopped tomatoes, green chillies and salt and let it cook on slow flame for around 15 minutes. Add around ½ cup of water if needed.
- Now add green peas, sprinkle garam masala powder and cook it for further 8-10 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
