Mutton Lazeez is an amazingly simple dish with lots of flavors. The marination makes it juicy and tender.
Required ingredients
- 500 g mutton pieces (with bones)
For the marination
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup curd (sour kind)
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
For onion paste
- ¼ cup oil
- 2 large onions, finely sliced
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp black peppercorns
- 2 black cardamoms

Directions & How to
- Mix all the ingredients for the marinade in a large glass bowl. Add in the mutton pieces and rub well to coat the marinade properly.
- Cover and keep aside in refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan and fry the onions till they are golden and crisp. Add cumin seeds, peppercorns and cardamoms also and fry for 1 minute.
- Strain the onion and whole garam masala onto kitchen paper towel and when they cool down grind them to fine paste.
- Heat up the same oil and add the marinated mutton stir well and cook on high heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Lower the heat, cover the pot properly and let it cook till mutton is completely tender for about 30 minutes.
- Add the onion paste at last and mix well. Serve with chapattis.
