Recipemaster special fusion chicken, a hot and spicy chicken main course dish where chicken is marinated and cooked in Indian spices and then finished with a tarka of chinese sauces. The Indochinese fusion brings out great taste and flavour in this dish. Do give it a try and give us your feedback on it.

Required ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken with bones - cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 part of a small onion - sliced
  • 3 large tomatoes - peeled and sliced
  • 6-8 garlic flakes - finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup yogurt beaten
  • 1 tbsp red chilli paste
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp  cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

For tarka/tempering

  • 3-4 garlic flakes - crushed
  • 2-3 green chillies - slit
  • 1 small capsicum - chopped
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil

Directions & How to

  • Wash and rinse the chicken.
  • In a bowl take red chilli paste, ginger garlic paste, yogurt, cumin  powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix it well. Marinate the chicken pieces in it for 2-3 hours.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, fry till it turns brown, add sliced onion and fry till it turns golden brown.
  • Add sliced tomatoes , salt and vinegar .  Saute it well and cook it covered till tomatoes turns pulpy.
  • Now mix chicken and saute it for 2 minutes on high flame.
  • Add half a cup of water and cook it on slow flame for 8-10 minutes or till it is cooked through.
  • In another pan heat a tbsp of oil, add butter and cook it till it melts. Add crushed garlic fry till it turns golden. Add mustard seeds, when it splutter add slit chillies and capsicum and fry it for a minute.
  • Add cumin powder, soya sauce and red chilli sauce. Cook it for a minute and pour over the cooked chicken.
  • Stir it well and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
