Healthy, easy and tasty side dish made with bottle gourd will become everyones favourite.

Required ingredients

  • 250 g bottle gourd( lauki) cut in big chunks
  • 2 medium sized onion thickly sliced
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 2 whole dry red chillies roughly broken
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp nigella seeds
  • ¼ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Directions & How to

  • Put all the ingredients in a pressure cooker except lemon juice, mix very well. On low flame let it cook for 2 whistles
  • After the pressure cools itself, cook on high heat to reduce excess water and it leaves oil.
  • Add lemon juice and serve garnished with coriander leaves.
  • In absence of pressure cooker cook it in a covered sauce pan on low heat for longer time.
